About us

W.A.R. for short, is an animal welfare catering for any type of animal.

It was set up by a group of volunteers who between them have many years of knowledge and experience on a wide range of animals.

Our aims are to help and rescue unwanted, mistreated, neglected and abandoned animals. To provide them with food, water, warm bedding, shelter and safety while in our care. Their welfare is paramount and they will be treated with veterinary care and medical assistance where required.

Also we try to help, educate and pass on knowledge via questions about the care and welfare of pets and animals, feeding, grooming, interacting with the animals, the importance and necessity of neutering to avoid unwanted litters, also important is the use of vets to maintain a healthy animal.

We will try to re-home any animal in our care when it is fit and ready to do so, we will not use euthanasia only as a last resort when all avenues have been exhausted and the animal is too badly injured.

W.A.R. is purely voluntary and receives no grants or funding so it relies on donations, gifts and fund raising to help cater for the animals and the running of the welfare. We do car boots and are now running a welfare charity shop selling a variety of new and used items, we accept donations of used or unwanted items clothing, brick-a-brac, unwanted presents etc.

Food, bedding, cat litter, cleaning equipment, bin bags, kitchen tissue etc would also be very gratefully accepted.

We want to give these animals a better home and a quality of life than some have possibly been used to.
